Do I need a prescription?

The state of Idaho has Direct Access for physical therapists. This means you do NOT need a prescription to see a therapist. Most insurance companies require a prescription from your MD to see a therapist and to be reimbursed for services received. Make sure to check with your insurance company prior to first visit.

While a specific treatment plan will be discussed and developed between the therapist and client, typically visits will take place 1-2 times per month. Time between sessions allows the body to integrate the changes created as well as for the client to perform given home exercises/plan to facilitate new motor patterns to maintain gains.  Many times a smaller number of visits in this environment are necessary due to the focused treatment, one-on-one care, and client's investment and participation with given program between sessions.
